Characteristics of Canadian Environmental Practitioners 2009 is a compilation of data gathered and analyzed from survey respondents. This information was analyzed and discussed at nine focus groups held across the country involving environmental practitioners, employers, and educators.
This unique ECO Canada study offers insight into the characteristics of environmental practitioners — tracing their motivations, as well as factors that impact their level of engagement as they progress through their careers.
The information in this report is divided into sections related to Attitude & Motivation, Attraction & Recruitment, Engagement & Retention, Professional Development Needs, Practitioner Profiles as well as key findings from the survey.
This report will provide employers with a deeper understanding of their employees’ motivations, influence the development of more refined human resource strategies, and increase the effectiveness of employee recruitment and engagement practices. Although the data are derived solely from Canadian companies, the findings are relevant for organizations in the United States as well.
