Sustainable Business Action Plan (Preliminary Report): Berkeley, CA

In an effort to make Berkeley a "green business powerhouse" and a "nation environmental leader" the Mayor of Berkeley recommended to members of the City Council in 2004 that the Sustainable Business Action Plan Preliminary Report be used as a guide to build Berkeley's green economy.  The Plan sets goals and lists specific actions in the following areas:

  • Energy & natural resources
  • Green building
  • Environmental leadership
  • Building demand for green products and services
  • Nurturing existing green and sustainable businesses
  • Focus on environmental innovation & entrepreneurship
  • Branding and communication

 

The ability or potential of a physical body to do work. The most common forms of energy are heat, light, mechanical (moving parts), and electrical.
