Alachua County Energy Conservation Strategies Commission: Executive Summary and Final Report

This report, developed over a 17 month period, provides the Board of County Commissioners in Alachua County, Florida, an overview of the environmental and socio-economic impacts of energy use as well as recommendations on how to minimize those impacts by changing how energy is used in the county.

The final report provides an extensive overview of the relationship between energy use and climate change as well as local socio-economic impacts. In addition, the report provides in a series of detailed tables actions the Board of County Commissioners and the community at-large can implement to minimize those impacts. In addition, it focuses on four specific topics related to energy use: land use and transportation, locally applicable alternative energy, residential usage, and waste and energy implications.

Finally, this report is an excellent resource for communities interested in recommendations on using energy more sustainably.
