In order to change the way energy is used in a community, one must first understand what energy sources are consumed and how energy is used. This document is a step-by-step guide to developing an inventory of the energy used in a given community.

The Willits Economic Localization (WELL) Energy project team developed this guide after conducting an energy inventory in Willits, California. The short guide provides instructions for each step in the inventory process.
 
This guide is ideal for those interested in understanding how much and what type of energy is used in their local communities. The guide is easy to understand and follow.
