This is an outline of items for consideration when organizing and writing criteria for a sustainable building ordinance. This outline provides a sound foundation from which leaders and staff may begin to complete the related sections of ordinance language.
This process utilizes an integrated approach to the creation of a sustainable building ordinance. Created and supported by consensus of stakeholders affected by the relevant issues, and the proposed solution, this process attempts to convey ownership and accountability to the community itself. Substantial staff and leader effort will be required to review, identify, and process the information to be included within the related section of ordinance language.
Finally, the outline identifies the majority of current issues as related to the identified topic. The content will allow leaders and staff to quickly identify areas they wish to investigate, and/or include in their draft language.
