Legislative Resolution for Earth Hour 2010

On Earth Hour hundreds of millions of people around the world will come together to call for action on climate change by doing something quite simple—turning off their lights for one hour. The movement symbolizes that by working together, each of us can make a positive impact in this fight, protecting our future and that of future generations.
The City of Cleveland has proposed an emergency resolution that urges its citizens, public and private businesses, as well as other area municipalities to support “Earth Hour 2010” by turning off their lights, from 8:30 pm until 9:30 pm on Saturday March 27, 2010. Your community can also help amplify the impact of Earth Hour by utilizing the Earth Hour Toolkit to make Earth Hour a community-wide event.
A term used for significant changes over an extended period of time in the Earth's natural environments. Climate change can be produced by natural processes (e.g. changes in the Earth's orbit) or by the impact of human behavior (e.g. deforestation). See GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE.
