Quarterly reports  are submitted to the Mayor, Council, and Department Directors.

The Office of Sustainability reports to the mayor and sits in the Administrative Services office.  There are six positions in the Office of Sustainability: (1) Sustainability Director; (2) Environmental Manager; (3) Recycling Manager; (4) Open Space Program Manager; (5) Outreach Coordinator; (6) Part-time Sustainability Interns (2 - 3)

The program is funded through landfill tipping fees and grants; approx. $800,000 annually.

1. Support city executive and senior management team in the design of overall strategy and process for the project
2. Develop Sustainability Plan and Climate Action Plan
3. Maintain updated Sustainability Plan and Climate Action Plan
4. Draft procedural and training manuals, process flow charts, and implementation plans
5. Oversee and maintain sustainability budget
6. Coordinate and lead City's Green Team
7. Track and report about sustainability programs underway on a regular basis through the City's performance management program
8. Develop criteria, policies and procedures for sustainable programs
9. Track, monitor, and report utility usage and greenhouse gas emissions of city operations
10. Track, monitor, and report greenhouse gas emissions at the community level
11. Foster, develop, and launch projects in partnership with city departments and external stakeholders
12. Identify and secure funding resources from outside sources (ex. Federal grants) for projects
13. Develop a multi-faceted communication strategy within the organization and the community to promote the City's efforts locally, statewide, and nationally to gain recognition
14. Represent the City at key meetings
15. Perform financial analysis on ongoing and new projects

City policies and ordinances have been put into place for continuity of operations.
