We are developing a project management database that will track the progress of each of our 169+ initiatives. We plan to make progress reports publicly available on a regular basis (app. 6 times/year), in addition to a comprehensive annual report. Additionally, we will report on the status of our progress through our PhillyStat performance management process.

The Division of Sustainability reports to the Mayor and sits in the Mayor's office.

City funds (app. $400k/year in General Fund, $500k/year in Capital Program funding)  Foundations (app. $400k annually)  State grants (app. $200k annually)  EECBG.

1. Support city executive and senior management team in the design of overall strategy and process for the project
2. Maintain updated Sustainability Plan and Climate Action Plan
3. Draft procedural and training manuals, process flow charts, and implementation plans
4. Oversee and maintain sustainability budget
5. Coordinate and lead City's Green Team
6. Develop criteria, policies and procedures for sustainable programs
7. Track and report about sustainability programs underway on a regular basis through the City's performance management program
8. Develop Sustainability Plan and Climate Action Plan
9. Track, monitor, and report utility usage and greenhouse gas emissions of city operations
10. Track, monitor, and report greenhouse gas emissions at the community level
11. Foster, develop, and launch projects in partnership with city departments and external stakeholders
12. Identify and secure funding resources from outside sources (ex. Federal grants) for projects
13. Represent the City at key meetings
14. Develop a multi-faceted communication strategy within the organization and the community to promote the City's efforts locally, statewide, and nationally to gain recognition
15. Perform financial analysis on ongoing and new projects

Through the implementation of Greenworks Philadelphia, our sustainability plan, we are institutionalizing the work within departments and City agencies. Strengthening the role of advocacy groups so that their voices carry influence broadly with elected officials and decision makers. Integrate "sustainability" into the Philadelphia culture so that it becomes a core set of values supported by the citizens.
