Report in several ways: 

• Report directly to Mayor
• Complete Annual Report prepared by Office staff with Sustainability Commission 
• Report periodically through press releases
• Mayoral sponsored public meetings, etc.

The Office of Sustainability and Sustainability Commission were both created by City Ordinance. The Sustainability Plan was adopted by City Council through and Ordinance.  The office of Sustainability reports to the Planning Department.  It also works directly with the Mayor's office.

Funded through the General Fund at less than $100K annually.  Funding is not tied to specific goals.  Once the plan is adopted, we will be better able to tie or link funding with goals.

1. Draft procedural and training manuals, process flow charts, and implementation plans
2. Maintain updated Sustainability Plan and Climate Action Plan
3. Develop Sustainability Plan and Climate Action Plan
4. Support city executive and senior management team in the design of overall strategy and process for the project
5. Coordinate and lead City's Green Team
6. Oversee and maintain sustainability budget
7. Develop criteria, policies and procedures for sustainable programs
8. Track, monitor, and report utility usage and greenhouse gas emissions of city operations
9. Track, monitor, and report greenhouse gas emissions at the community level
10. Track and report about sustainability programs underway on a regular basis through the City's performance management program
11. Foster, develop, and launch projects in partnership with city departments and external stakeholders
12. Identify and secure funding resources from outside sources (ex. Federal grants) for projects
13. Represent the City at key meetings
14. Develop a multi-faceted communication strategy within the organization and the community to promote the City's efforts locally, statewide, and nationally to gain recognition
