Waste Diversion Field Study Checklist

This checklist provides a city with an outline of the major data needed to perform an accurate waste diversion study. It covers information pertaining to residential and commercial service providers as well as residential and non-residential sector activities that contribute to diversion.

This is a "big picture" checklist that cities can use to ensure that they have not forgotten to account for any part of their municipal waste stream as they quantify their diversion efforts.
 
The disposal of waste other than through incineration or the use of landfills. Examples include reuse and recycling.The overall flow of waste from consumers to a landfill, incinerator, or other disposal site.
