This process utilizes an integrated approach to the creation of a sustainable building ordinance. A planned, educational introduction to the jurisdiction's elected officials will serve to introduce them to the content of the proposed ordinance, eliminate any misinformation, and help them to understand the holistic nature of sustainable building ordinances.
Created and supported by consensus of stakeholders affected by the relevant issues, and the proposed solution, this process attempts to convey ownership and accountability to the community itself. Dedicated, ongoing effort will be required to coordinate with legal officials as well as create an educational introduction to elected officials representing the jurisdiction.
