Building Green Affordable Housing: Berkeley, CA

Building Green Affordable Housing: Berkeley, CA

The Green Affordable Housing Coalition is a joint project of Build It Green and Bay Area LISC, bringing together public-sector and private-sector professionals committed to incorporating green building practices into the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of affordable housing.

The coalition's strategic plan outlines objectives and strategies in multiple areas related to the planning, financing, policy making, and advocacy efforts required for nurturing a successful program.  While specific to Berkeley's community, most of the outlined issues are relevant to any community. Tailoring their objectives and strategies to a specific community is possible if a community can identify its own realistic set of development tools and resources.
