Inclusionary Zoning & Mixed-Income Housing
Inclusionary housing plans are ordinances that require a certain share of new construction be affordable to people with low to moderate incomes. They are important for any city interested in promoting mixed-income development. The City of Sacramento has an Inclusionary Housing Plan and provides this checklist to ensure developers are meeting the requirements of the plan.
The 3-page checklist is a table that covers the number, unit mix, location, structure type, affordability and phasing of the inclusionary units that should be described in an Inclusionary Housing Plan. Governments that are interested in increasing the rate of compliance with an inclusionary housing plan may want to modify this checklist for their own use.
