Water: American Water Accepting Applications for Environmental Grant Program

American Water Works Company, a U.S. water and wastewater utility company, is accepting applications for its 2011 Environmental Grant Program. Grants are available in American Water service areas in ten states: California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.

Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to support diverse types of environmental sustainability activities such as watershed cleanups, reforestation efforts, biodiversity projects, streamside buffer restoration projects and hazardous waste collection efforts.
