Urban Food Systems: Harvest unused fruit - A model for other cities

In 2010 Harvest Sacramento collected 15,339 pounds of fruit from trees within the city and donated it to food shelters. What a great idea for other cities. You can donate your fruit tree and volunteers will come out and pick the fruit. Here is a link to their web site for more information. http://harvestsacramento.wordpress.com/
