The Deputy Director of Energy will have administrative oversight of programs and activities related to conservation and energy efficiency services for commercial, residential, institutional, governmental, and transportation sectors; providing energy assistance to qualifying households; and providing information on energy assistance.  The Director is also directly involved in managing all DDOE-related activities related to the design and implementation of a Sustainable Energy Utility, pursuant to the recently-enacted Clean and Affordable Energy Act.  Please see attachment for full position description.


The Deputy General Counsel for the DDOE will serve as the deputy chief legal advisor to the Director of DDOE and agency management on a variety of complex legal issues in order to effectuate DDOE’s mission.  In addition, the successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in environmental and energy arenas, particularly in air quality, water quality, NEPA, Superfund, and lead; and assist the General Counsel (GC) with managing the overall operations of the General Counsel’s Office, supervising lawyers who enforce federal and environmental laws before OAH, and in conjunction with OAG, in Article I and Article III courts.  Also, the candidate will provide counseling to DDOE’s program offices and review for legal sufficiency legislation, regulations, guidances, federal sub-grants, MOUs, contracts, correspondence, etc. Please see attachment for full position description.
