Midwest Regional Convening on Climate Resilience
- July 27, 2014 - July 29, 2014
Climate change is a global issue with local implications. City leaders need to prepare their communities for both the expected and unexpected impacts that come with a changing climate. Strong, resilient communities are able to respond, recover, and adapt to the increasing challenges that Mother Nature and the global economy present.
The Sustainable Cities Institute at the National League of Cities, in partnership with the Institute for Sustainable Communities is holding a regional convening on climate resilience in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This convening will bring together teams of city staff and elected officials from communities all across the upper Midwest, allowing for participants to delve into the issues that are specifically affecting their region. Over the course of two days, participants will learn from local leaders, regional experts and national authorities what can be done to meet the demands of climate adaption while strengthening their communities.
